Go Back to Lot List Pablo Picasso ORIGINAL India Ink Preparatory Drawing-Signed by Picasso and with PSA/DNA letter copy.

Lot Number : 1
Current Bid : $15750

Description
This approx. 9"11" original India ink drawing was done by this legendary artist and comes with a photocopy of the original COA from Herman Darvick of PSA/DNA and a letter from Jack de Varona Jr. of the Academy of Manuscript & Autograph for authenticity purposes. Unfortunately, the original COA's were lost over the years but these match up exactly to the piece in question. It is surmised that the piece called "Tete de Femme" was prep work done by Picasso probably earlier the same day he painted the MULTI-MILLION dollar masterpiece. Picasso has signed & dated it "6.11.39" and and it is stunning! It originally came with an appraisal that alone cost my consignor $5,000 and stated the wholesale value of the piece at $300,000 and a retail value of $750,000(appraisal came from Dr. Mallen & art collector/appraisal specialist Erin Neito, not CCSA's personal opinion but was also lost over the years). I'll start the bidding low now and call with any questions.
