A childhood accident took parts of two fingers on Mordecai Brown's throwing hand, but he took that hardship and turned it into one of the most devastating curveballs of all time. He was Christy Mathewson's only real rival during the first decade of the 20th Century, and the Cubs ace was eventually enshrined into Cooperstown immortality. This ball comes sweet spot-signed in black fountain pen ink by "Three Finger" Brown himself, reading his birth name and grading a STRONG 8. A great piece for any baseball collection, and with an accompanying LOA from Barry Halper, retail is low thousands!
